Moments gone by

Remembering moments gone by,
Sometimes, I do sigh...
Those truly were days divine,
Days that will never lose their shine.
When I would have fun all day,
And have it all my way.

When my mother's soft voice greeted me on waking from sleep,
When her crooning lullabies put me to slumber deep.
When I'd eagerly wait for my dad to arrive,
And then pester him for a scooter drive.

When my brother and I would cricket in the courtyard play,
Oh! I could whack him for sixes all day!
When my grand-parents would visit often,
Showering me with love that would, even the toughest soften.

Yes those truly were days divine,
How I wish they could once again be mine...

The road ahead...

Perilous it may be,
And carefully must one tread.
Still, one must march on,
On the road ahead...

Leaving behind a few,
Finding companions new,
One must march on,
On the road ahead...

When the going gets tough,
And the times are rough,
One must march on,
On the road ahead...

There is a traveler in all of us, with life being the grand journey on which we all embark...immerse yourself in the joy of this divine journey...get out there, have fun and blaze your own trail : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8bBziwkrSA

The river flows

The river meanders down its serpentine path,
How akin to life is the flow its waters hath.

Arising from naught but some snowy abode,
A child emerging from its mothers womb,
Rushing out to face the world that lies before,
Wanting to learn more of what life has in store.

The waters path is replete with twists and turns,
So indeed does life harbor a lot of heartaches and burns,
At each turn, encountering stones and blockades new,
Obstacles that one must overcome, in life's course,
And as do the waters smooth the rocks with their force,
So do these problems unravel with deliberation due.

The waters mingle with another river,
And together tread towards the sea,
So does man find his soul-mate,
One with whom he shall happy be.
And at last, into the sea do the waters flow,
So do we, one day, our last breath blow.

The last meeting

She was there waiting for him just as she'd promised. His heart skipped a beat when he saw her all dressed up. To him, she seemed perfect. To him, she WAS perfect. Tears of happiness welled up inside him, as he slowly made his way towards her. He struggled to fight them away, but controlling emotions is the domain of very few men; try as he might, a few tear-drops did trickle down his face. He quickly wiped them away, looked at her, and smiled.

As his gaze met hers, he was taken aback by what he saw. Eyes which had once seemed to hold the love of the entire world for him, were now devoid of any emotion. She just stared back at him nonplussed, as if she couldn't care less who stood before her. Then she muttered the words that would scar him for life..."Rohit, we need to talk", was what she said, and he realized he knew just where this was heading.

And that is how it was. The final meeting which promised to lead to a happily ever after, ended with him being left at the altar.
