Smile

Shed not tears of sorrow,
For there is always tomorrow,
Do not dwell upon your gloom,
For soon, flowers will be in full bloom.

A new day will soon dawn,
The night will soon turn to morn,
The dark rain clouds will soon give way,
For a bright and sunny day.

Rather smile a while, ever so often,
For a smile does the toughest soften.

Aside=>There's a wonderful song related to smiling too u know:Words (beegees)...heck even Kabhi Kabhi Aditi from Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

College started today...nothing much...have to get rid of this habit of sleeping late soon though as I feel sleepy during the day :P

Memories

The glowing warmth of her smile,
The sweet chats every once in a while,
The long walks in the weather fine,
The nights when we'd by the candle dine,

Those truly were the days divine,
The water, too, was intoxicating like wine,
And the mere sound of her voice fine,
Sent warm shudders down my spine.

Now, begone are the days that were so dear,
Yet, I cling onto the memories mere,
For they still bring a smile to my face,
And I wish the times will soon return by god's grace.

Every once in a while I think a bit of Kats so please pardon my romantic monologues (a pep up poem is next on the cards promise ;))...Raksha Bandhan today...celebrated with bro, and cousins...had a great time and ate a lot (for me, the two are somehow strongly related :P). And to top it off I slept during the day (yippee)

The secret of success

Dream big, for great things aspire,
And in your belly have the fire,
To fulfill your heart's desire,
Then success is all yours sire.

Take aim for the stars,
Break out from the bars -
The self-imposed shackles that,
Keep you pinned down to the mat.

And, like an eagle soar,
For you are destined for much more,
Have full belief in this fact,
And upon the above suggestions act.

Nothing much done today...was off to Puneet's place, followed by a visit to the British High Commision where my bro works, followed by a relaxing nap on arriving home, now to be followed by a night awake for making full use of the 2mbps connection :P

One little candle

Okay this bit's not my original creation...yet it sort of fitted the mood the previous poems have had...i and my classmates were told this @ class 7th by our class-teacher Mrs Rathore.

When the day seems dark and dreary,
And the way seems hard to find,
Don't let your heart be weary,
Just keep this thought in mind,

It is better to light just one little candle,
Than to stumble in the dark,
Its better to light just one little candle,
All you need is a tiny spark,

And if we all lit just one little candle,
What a bright world it would be!

* Am not sure this is exactly how it went...The ending seems a bit abrupt to me, and i must have gotten some of the portions wrong a bit, despite how nicely Mrs Rathore taught it to us...but you people do get the general gist of what's being said right? :)

The Wheel of Time

Slowly turns the wheel of time,

Slowly do friendships strengthen,
Slowly do shadows lengthen,
Slowly do children grow,
Slowly does the skin furrow,

Slowly turns the wheel of time,

Stealthily does the time pass,
Leaving those not up to the task,
So better not in glory bask,
Fame's fleeting, any wise man you ask,
Never on you laurels rest,
Rather, prepare for next test.

For slowly but steadily turns the wheel of time.

Back from a short self imposed sabbatical :) (due to my laziness)...did quite a few things: worked on a presentation, applied for a MTNL net connection (my current one's baaaaad), roamed around and the likes...sadly, no new movies to report :(

Spring

The flowers readily blossom forth,
The birds flock back from the north,

From atop trees,
In the scented breeze,
Birds melodiously sing.

Beneath their shade,
With a rope's aid,
Children joyously swing.

Rejoice! It is spring.

Another fun day...(I seem to be having a number of these lately :))...Watched The Mummy with bro and niece and nephew...and whiled away a lot of time..have .gotten VC# and Web Dev running though :)...

A starry night

For : You people know who (Kats)

Lets stand here, you and I,
Under the starry night sky,
Gaze up now and lo! behold!
A sight too fantastic to be told,

The stars shine brightly tonight,
Together they shine with all their might,
Twinkling away from dusk to dawn,
The wondrous night sky do they adorn.

Seeing the moon's pale light flooding the sky,
We're so mesmerized, we don't notice the time fly,
The trees, catching the breeze, ever so gently rustle,
Doesn't it feel great to get away from the daily tussle,

Moments spent like this are golden indeed,
They remain forever etched in our memories,
Let's do this again sometime, you and I:
Come up here and gaze at the starry sky.

Okay so this marks a certain veering off from my brand of motivational poetry...This was written more to motivate me, and was meant for Kats...Btw had fun today...Hung out with my school buddies...watched The Dark Knight and had food (yummy)...Then shopped around for a bag with bro and cousin...finally, what a better way to end than a (hopefully) mushy poem.

Harmony

The birds chirping from the tree,
They remind me the meaning of being free,
The leaves dancing in the breeze,
To me they seem ill at ease,
The buds blossoming out to flowers,
They look so lovely, I could stare at them for hours,

The harmony in nature is there for all to see,
How I wish this is how we as humans too could be.

Saw Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na today. Really like it...Can't get over the songs...specially Kabhi Kabhi..Then off to CP for a stroll...got back late @ night and dozed off so could not write yesterday...for those who crave my poetry...here's a belated doze :)
