The one for me

Well, I subscribe to the romantic notion that somewhere out there, there's someone meant for me (umm, well...just for me...i am a bit possessive u see :))...just penned down something towards this end

Where? I have no clue,
But I know it is true,
That somewhere, the one for me does await,
Waiting to be united with me by fate.

She may be,
Just round the alley,
Passing before me daily,
Just that I don't notice.

OR

She may be,
A thousand miles away,
Where the winds hold sway,
Kissing her silky hair gently.

Where? I really have no clue,
But I know it is definitely true,
That somewhere out there, the one for me does await,
Waiting to be finally united with me by fate.

The Wonder Years

Firstly, a heart-felt apology for me being a (very) lazy person (but then this very laziness is an integral part of me :(...one which i'd like to do away with)
this is something I've written about the nostalgic feeling that we are bound to get when we people move on from college...i myself have experienced it when i left boarding school in class 10th...i remember distinctly that it was sad (to the point of bringing tears to my eyes) to think of leaving people who had been an integral part of my life for 8 long years...although you do keep in touch with your closest friends, its not the same as being there with them day in and day out.

This is dedicated to all people that I've had the pleasure of befriending, be it at SEM, Columbas or at NSIT...Thank you for considering me worthy of your friendship.

Hark the day steadily approaches,
When we shall part in separate coaches,
//coaches: probably the metro to our homes
To carry on this journey called life,
//remember life's a journey not a destination
Taking along memories of fun and strife.
//Fun:Receiving treats. Strife:Giving them

Tis far as yet, but not for long,
//Umm the 31st of May I guess??
And one day it will finally dawn,
//The 31st again
And then we shall bid adieu,
//Bye, tata, see you, et all
Amidst a solemn milieu.
//I guess we will be feeling sad when we part

Will we meet again after we part,
//Of course we will...this is just a poem
This I know not as of now,
//Am not a soothsayer you see
But for this much I can vow,
//But can't promise that i'll keep my vow
You will always have a place in my heart.
//Plenty of space there :P

The experiences we've shared together,
//Bunking classes...heck full day(s) bunk
The hardships that we've had to weather,
//Rs 500 :( :( :(
The moments we've whiled away,
//Too many to specify...more like every moment
Chatting idly all the day,
//This is pretty much all we did right??
All these, I will fondly remember,
//Yeah seriously
And cherish for ever and ever.
//Well at least as long as my memory would allow

P.S.: I'm becoming a rather good coder right? Look the poem's commented too! :P

Dunno why, but i find it impossible to resist myself from using rhyming words for every line which is a sort of a strain on my limited vocabulary...so the above piece is not as good in conveying what i really feel :(...but then i hope u people get the gist.

Ok if someone's in the same nostalgic mood, might I recommend the song "Purani Jeans Aur Guitar" by Ali Haider, lyrics at =>
(http://www.hindilyrix.com/songs/get_song_Purani%20jeans%20aur%20guitar.html)
I always feel so senti after hearing this, despite me not being the cigarette smoking types.

Edit: On re-reading this, the commenting makes it rather confusing...here's it all as one

Childhood

On a rainy day,
Children with paper boats play,
Enjoying with all their heart,
The scenic beauty, the divine Art.

Alas I can't do the same, I restrain,
For me the rain's an added pain.

On a snowy day,
With Christmas not far away,
Children hold snowball fights grand,
Grateful for the weather at hand.

Alas I can't do the same, I restrain,
The snow's bad just like the rain.

Despite trying, envy these kids I must,
As they play in while I brush off the dust.
For they enjoy life to the full, unrestrained,
Making me wish I were a child once again.

Finally back again after a long (ok spelled looooooooong) hiatus :P, mostly health imposed, partly study imposed and a teeny weeny bit hard disk (or rather its lack of) imposed. Can't possibly summarize my entire month in here i guess...

oh i just might=> sleep, sleep, sleep, eat, sleep, watch tv, sleep...that's pretty much how the bed-rest portion of the period went...thankfully, i had great friends (and a constant supply of nagraj and super commando dhruv comics) to give me company during this rather boring span of time (i finally did realize sleep does become boring at some point of time) ...thanx guys for the support:)

the study period was an alternating cycle of study,sleep,study,sleep,...(you get the hang)

then finally disaster struck when my beloved hdd's glorious 4 years of existence came to an abrupt end...may she rest in peace and not be envious of the new one promptly purchased to replace her.

Smile

Shed not tears of sorrow,
For there is always tomorrow,
Do not dwell upon your gloom,
For soon, flowers will be in full bloom.

A new day will soon dawn,
The night will soon turn to morn,
The dark rain clouds will soon give way,
For a bright and sunny day.

Rather smile a while, ever so often,
For a smile does the toughest soften.

Aside=>There's a wonderful song related to smiling too u know:Words (beegees)...heck even Kabhi Kabhi Aditi from Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

College started today...nothing much...have to get rid of this habit of sleeping late soon though as I feel sleepy during the day :P

Memories

The glowing warmth of her smile,
The sweet chats every once in a while,
The long walks in the weather fine,
The nights when we'd by the candle dine,

Those truly were the days divine,
The water, too, was intoxicating like wine,
And the mere sound of her voice fine,
Sent warm shudders down my spine.

Now, begone are the days that were so dear,
Yet, I cling onto the memories mere,
For they still bring a smile to my face,
And I wish the times will soon return by god's grace.

Every once in a while I think a bit of Kats so please pardon my romantic monologues (a pep up poem is next on the cards promise ;))...Raksha Bandhan today...celebrated with bro, and cousins...had a great time and ate a lot (for me, the two are somehow strongly related :P). And to top it off I slept during the day (yippee)

The secret of success

Dream big, for great things aspire,
And in your belly have the fire,
To fulfill your heart's desire,
Then success is all yours sire.

Take aim for the stars,
Break out from the bars -
The self-imposed shackles that,
Keep you pinned down to the mat.

And, like an eagle soar,
For you are destined for much more,
Have full belief in this fact,
And upon the above suggestions act.

Nothing much done today...was off to Puneet's place, followed by a visit to the British High Commision where my bro works, followed by a relaxing nap on arriving home, now to be followed by a night awake for making full use of the 2mbps connection :P

One little candle

Okay this bit's not my original creation...yet it sort of fitted the mood the previous poems have had...i and my classmates were told this @ class 7th by our class-teacher Mrs Rathore.

When the day seems dark and dreary,
And the way seems hard to find,
Don't let your heart be weary,
Just keep this thought in mind,

It is better to light just one little candle,
Than to stumble in the dark,
Its better to light just one little candle,
All you need is a tiny spark,

And if we all lit just one little candle,
What a bright world it would be!

* Am not sure this is exactly how it went...The ending seems a bit abrupt to me, and i must have gotten some of the portions wrong a bit, despite how nicely Mrs Rathore taught it to us...but you people do get the general gist of what's being said right? :)
