The last meeting

She was there waiting for him just as she'd promised. His heart skipped a beat when he saw her all dressed up. To him, she seemed perfect. To him, she WAS perfect. Tears of happiness welled up inside him, as he slowly made his way towards her. He struggled to fight them away, but controlling emotions is the domain of very few men; try as he might, a few tear-drops did trickle down his face. He quickly wiped them away, looked at her, and smiled.

As his gaze met hers, he was taken aback by what he saw. Eyes which had once seemed to hold the love of the entire world for him, were now devoid of any emotion. She just stared back at him nonplussed, as if she couldn't care less who stood before her. Then she muttered the words that would scar him for life..."Rohit, we need to talk", was what she said, and he realized he knew just where this was heading.

And that is how it was. The final meeting which promised to lead to a happily ever after, ended with him being left at the altar.

Life Is Too Brief

Between the budding
And the falling leaf,
Between the seed time
And the golden sheaf,
For hate and spite.
We have no time for greed;
Therefore, with love
Make beautiful the deed;
Fast speeds the night.

- W. M. Vories

There ain't not much time in life,
For it to be lived in anger and strife,
Spreading happiness and joy should we live,
For one day will we cease to exist,
It's only our deeds that will persist.

Dream big

Only as high as I reach can I grow,
only as far as I seek can I go,
only as deep as I look can I see,
only as much as I dream can I be.
- Karen Ravn

Dream big must we --
To scale summits high,
Grander must our dreams be,
Then will we obstructions scale,
And succeed in our endeavors without fail.

Persist

When the going gets tough:
Persist -
For seasons don't last forever,
And soon will flowers bloom.

Catharsis

Lying awake,
All curled up in bed,
Taking stock of,
Where life has so far led...

A few burning questions,
Unanswered as yet,
A few desires,
That haven't been met...

A few lingering doubts,
Still persist,
Like the urge to break free,
That I've always tried to resist...

Missing you

Written for someone special...

It seems just yesterday,
When we went our separate way,
Yet the moment's long gone,
We've parted, I'm forlorn,
Clinging onto belief,
Yearning for relief,
From the pain inflicted,
Waiting, nay begging, for the day,
When it shall be lifted,
When, stare into your shimmering eyes, I may,
Into your ears, sweet nothings, whisper.

I was so fortunate that we met such,
Who'd have thought we'd get along so much,
And in a narrow span of time,
You have all but become my life,
Constrained as I am with words that rhyme,
I can't clearly articulate my strife,
Yet I attempt to surmise:

I miss you more each passing day,
And I cling onto memories we shared along the way,
And each brief talk with you,
The moments, they seem so few.
Quickly trickling by,
Amazing me at how time does fly,

I miss you when the sun holds sway,
And I miss you when it fades away,
I miss you when the moon shines pale,
And I miss you when the stars, the sky regale,
And with each passing moment, with each heart's sigh,
As the moment we shall finally meet again draws nigh,
I miss you all the even more,
Eagerly waiting for you to touch shore.

Life as I think it

Music:
Golden memories: notes melodious,
A few discordant tones,
Mixed together to create,
The orchestra called life.

Art:
A blank canvas at the start,
Parents and teachers, on it,
They paint their work of art,
Someone's masterpiece, named life.

Travel:
Ventures to places unknown,
Adventures where we are seldom alone,
Rather accompanied by companions we find,
To aid us in this journey called life.

Life:
It has a beginning,
It has an end,
Yet its more than what's between the two segments,
Yeah, its difficult to comprehend,
Is His miracle, called life.
